COTABATO CITY, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / April 26, 2010) – Two progressive party list groups accused state agents of defacing campaign posters of its two senatorial candidates in the southern Philippines.
MAKABAYAN Coalition and Nacionalista Party senatorial candidate Liza Maza condemned what she called a "systematic red scare and witch-hunting campaign" against progressive candidates as the run-up towards the May 2010 elections heats up.
Makabayan senatorial candidates Satur Ocampo and Liza Maza said the Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo government is ‘becoming more desperate in frustrating progressive candidates from pursuing the politics of change.’
