Manila, Philippines (AHN) - Reps. Liza Maza and Satur Ocampo announced on Monday that they will be Senate candidates next year under the Nacionalista Party. The two leftist lawmakers previously withdrew plans of running under the party after its chairman forged an alliance with the party created by former President Ferdinand Marcos during martial law.
MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Manuel Villar’s Nacionalista Party (NP) announced yesterday that the party had officially adopted party-list Representatives Satur Ocampo of Bayan Muna and Liza Maza of Gabriela as guest senatorial candidates in the coming May 2010 elections.
MANILA, Philippines—The alliance between the Nacionalista Party (NP) and the Kilusang Bagong Lipunan (KBL) has ended almost as soon as it began, after two militant senatorial candidates made the breakup a precondition for their joining the NP lineup for the 2010 elections.
But officially, the NP said the relationship was set aside due to issues on the part of the KBL.
