Overseas Filipino workers in Hong Kong on Sunday started to practice filling up sample ballots to be used in the upcoming automated polls, the first-ever to be done in the history of local and overseas Philippine elections.
The tandem of Senator Manny Villar and Senator Loren Legarda of Nacionalista Party (NP) has won the support of a group of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in the Middle East.
“Vigilance and unity serve as OFWs’ armor against Arroyo administration’s brazen schemes to further squeeze the income from their labor. The recent victory of OFWs in Hong Kong against the imposition of Pag-IBIG as a mandatory requirement is a big blow against the current administration that Filipino migrant workers refer to as their consistent extortionist”.
