LIZA MAZA supporters launch flash dance mob, express support for her Senatorial bid

Donning MAZA ako t-shirts, more than a hundred supporters of Rep. Liza Maza's bid for the 2010 elections danced to the tune of Bongga ka Day! through a flash mob dance that surprised and entertained the crowd today at the Quezon Memorial Circle.

Using dance and music to convey their message, the supporters of Liza Maza, especially the youth, want to popularize this unique and exciting way of expressing their support for her senatorial run. The flash dance mob, known as a fun and creative activity, is their way of showing support for Maza who aspires to carry on the platform of women and the masses to the Senate, said Cristina Palabay, Campaign Manager
of Rep. Liza Maza and Secretary General of Gabriela Women's Party.

According to the organizers, it took less than two weeks for volunteers to organize the activity. Describing it as a collective effort of the whole group, each one made his/her contribution in the process from the song selection down to the dance moves they showcased.

Like the lyrics of our all-time favorite OPM hit, we feel and know that Liza Maza has a platform we describe as no less than bongga because it will genuinely serve the women, youth and the masses. With an incorruptible track record enriched with her meaningful legislative accomplishments and uncompromising stand on peoples issues for the past 8 years as a progressive Congresswoman of Gabriela Womens Party, theres no doubt that Maza has earned the trust and support of the Filipino people, Palabay said.

In the coming days, organizers plan to conduct more flash dance mobs all over Metro Manila. Volunteers in other regions and cities also plan to replicate this activity. The group also plans to to spread the video virally over the web and hopes to reach the wider public especially the youth. ###
